Posture Therapy in Los Angeles
Activ8 Posture provides one-on-one posture therapy at two Los Angeles clinics: Santa Monica and Beverly Grove. We work with people dealing with chronic back, neck, hip and knee pain, mobility limitations, and postural problems that have not responded to other approaches. Every client starts with a free 30-minute consultation and postural assessment.

Which LA clinic is right for you?
| Santa Monica | Beverly Grove | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Santa Monica, CA 90404 | Los Angeles, CA 90036 |
| Best if you are in | Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Mar Vista, Culver City, Westwood | Beverly Grove, West Hollywood, Mid-City, Hancock Park, Beverly Hills, Miracle Mile, Larchmont |
| Type | Westside clinic | Central LA clinic |
In a city where ten miles can mean forty minutes, pick the clinic that fits your actual commute, not the one that looks closer on a map. Santa Monica serves the Westside; Beverly Grove is more convenient coming from West Hollywood, Mid-City or the Beverly Hills side. Both clinics run the same program to the same standards.

The practice
Why our Santa Monica clinic has been here since 2008
Activ8 Posture’s founder has been working in posture therapy for over 30 years. Before founding this practice, he served as Education Director for a national postural therapy organization, teaching seminars across the US and internationally to audiences of physical therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and trainers — and he developed the Posture Alignment Specialist certification curriculum that trained a generation of practitioners in this field.
In 2008 the clinic moved to Santa Monica and became the top-performing clinic in the network within two years. A second LA clinic followed in 2012, and Boston in 2014. The practice has since gone fully independent as Activ8 Posture.
What that means practically: the person who wrote the training curriculum for this discipline sets the standards our LA therapists work to. More about the practice
Who we see
Who we work with in Los Angeles
Screen-bound professionals
Entertainment, tech and creative work in this city means long hours at a desk or an edit bay, and the postural signature is consistent — forward head, rounded shoulders, shortened hip flexors, and a lower back carrying the consequences.
Drivers
LA commutes put people in a fixed, slightly rotated seated position for hours a week. We see the asymmetries that produces constantly, and most clients have never connected the two.
Active adults and athletes
Runners, surfers, cyclists, tennis and pickleball players, yoga and Pilates practitioners. Recurring injury on the same side is the tell — that is a structural load imbalance, not bad luck.
People who have tried everything
LA has more wellness options per square mile than almost anywhere. Many of our clients have worked through the list and want to know what is actually structural before they try the next thing.
Conditions we most often work with: back and neck pain, sciatica, hip and knee pain, shoulder impingement and frozen shoulder, headaches, poor balance and restricted range of motion, scoliosis, plantar fasciitis, and postural patterns such as forward head and pelvic tilt.

Posture Therapist — Santa Monica and Beverly Grove
TBMM-CES · MS Kinesiology (Gerokinesiology) · BS Kinesiology · NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist
Kimberly’s training is in balance and mobility, and it shapes how she reads everything else — imbalance as the whole body responding to the forces and the environment around it, rather than as bad balance or age. She sees clients at both LA clinics. Read Kimberly’s full bio
The path
How the program works
Free consultation and assessment
Thirty minutes, in clinic or on Zoom. We take your history and assess your alignment head to toe — where you deviate from neutral, which patterns are compensations, and what is driving what. You leave with a clear picture and no obligation to continue. Book yours
The IMPACT program
Blocks of 8 or 16 sessions, usually one or two a week to start. A sequence of corrective exercises built for your specific deviations and adjusted as your body changes, plus movement re-education so the gains carry into how you sit, stand and move. See the program
Ongoing sessions
Many clients continue with individual sessions to maintain progress and keep building. Some do not need to, and we will be straight with you about which. See how we work
How it compares
How this differs from physical therapy and chiropractic
Physical therapy generally focuses on rehabilitating a specific injury or region, often following a referral, and may or may not include a whole-body postural analysis. Posture therapy starts from the opposite end: we assess the entire structure first, on the premise that where it hurts is frequently not where the problem originates.
Chiropractic care is typically passive — the practitioner adjusts the joint. Posture therapy is active. You learn to hold and move your body differently through targeted exercise, which is slower but tends to hold longer. Many of our clients keep seeing a chiropractor and find the adjustments last better once the underlying pattern changes.
None of these approaches excludes the others, and we are happy to work alongside your existing providers.
Cost
What it costs
The consultation and postural assessment are free — thirty minutes, no obligation, nothing to decide on the call.
The IMPACT program runs in blocks of sessions, ideally one a week at the start. Eight sessions is $1,680, about $210 a session. Sixteen sessions is $3,150, about $197 a session. Which block suits you is something we work out together at the consultation — you are not choosing now. Full program details
We are a cash-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. Posture therapy frequently qualifies as an eligible HSA or FSA expense — you can check whether you qualify in about two minutes. Clients who finish IMPACT often continue with ongoing sessions afterwards; we will talk that through when it is relevant, not before.

Common questions
Questions from Los Angeles clients
Where exactly are your Los Angeles clinics?
Our Santa Monica clinic is at 2222 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 105, Santa Monica, CA 90404. Our Beverly Grove clinic is at 557 S Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036. Both offer the same program.
Which LA clinic should I book?
Choose by commute rather than distance. Santa Monica serves the Westside — Venice, Brentwood, Culver City, Pacific Palisades. Beverly Grove is easier from West Hollywood, Mid-City, Hancock Park and Beverly Hills.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. Posture therapy is not billed through insurance, so you can book directly. If you are currently under a physician’s care, we will ask about it during your consultation and are glad to coordinate.
How long until I feel a difference?
People change at different rates and we will not promise you a timeline. The work is progressive, you do 20 to 40 minutes a day at home between sessions, and your consultation will give you an honest read on your own situation.
Is this covered by insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly. Posture therapy often qualifies as an HSA or FSA expense, which you can verify in about two minutes.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable clothing you can move in — athletic wear works best. Bring any relevant imaging or reports if you have them, though they are not required.
Do you work with people who have had surgery?
Often, yes, both before and after. If you are post-surgical we will want to know where you are in your recovery, and will coordinate with your surgeon or physical therapist where appropriate.
Can I do this virtually if I am outside Los Angeles?
Yes. Virtual sessions over Zoom work well because the therapy is corrective exercise you perform yourself. Many LA clients mix in-clinic and virtual sessions around their schedule.
