Posture therapy in Newton, MA
Our main Boston clinic, in Newtonville. One-to-one posture therapy that works on the alignment underneath your pain, not just the spot that hurts.

The clinic
What we do here
Every program starts with a full postural assessment — photographs from the front, side and back, plus functional tests that show which muscles have stopped doing their job and which ones have taken over. You see the same picture we see.
From there you get a sequence of corrective exercises built around your own alignment, adjusted as your body changes. Most of the work happens at home, twenty to forty minutes a day, with sessions here to check progress and move you on.
Who comes to us
Who we work with in Newton
Desk workers and commuters
Neck, shoulder and lower back pain that builds through the working week and eases at weekends.
Over-50s who want to stay active
Balance, stiffness and the sense that things are narrowing. Usually reversible, and worth addressing early.
Runners and racquet players
Recurring one-sided injuries that keep coming back to the same hip, knee or Achilles.
People weighing up surgery
Worth exhausting conservative options first. We will tell you honestly if we do not think we can help.

Getting started
Three steps, no mystery
01 A conversation and an assessment
One free session, thirty minutes. You describe what is going on and we analyze how you are actually standing and moving.
02 Your own sequence
A program built around your alignment rather than a general routine, adjusted as your body changes.
03 Holding on to it
Once you are aligned, the work shifts from correcting to maintaining. Some keep a session in the calendar; others take it from there.

Common questions
Questions from Newton clients
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a free consultation directly, and most clients come to us without a referral. If you are under the care of a doctor or physical therapist for the same issue, tell us and we will work alongside them.
How is this different from physical therapy?
Physical therapy usually treats a diagnosed injury or the area that hurts. We assess the whole body and work on the alignment and muscle imbalances producing the load — which is often somewhere other than the painful spot. Many clients do both, and we are happy to coordinate.
What happens at the free consultation?
Thirty minutes. You describe what is going on, we take posture photographs and run functional tests, and you see the same picture we do. There is nothing to decide on the call, and if we do not think posture therapy is the right answer we will say so.
How long does a program take?
Programs run in blocks of eight or sixteen sessions, usually one a week at the start, with twenty to forty minutes of exercises a day at home. Change happens at different rates for different people, so we do not promise a timeline.
Do you take insurance?
We are a self-pay practice. Many clients use HSA or FSA funds — you can check whether you qualify through TrueMed.
Where do I park?
The clinic is at 246 Walnut Street in Newtonville, with street parking on Walnut and the nearby side streets. Give yourself a few extra minutes at busier times of day.
